To sum it all up?

Levels remain low for all viruses, but Flu is clearly starting to kick off. ED Visits, Positivity, and Wastewater are all rising for Flu.

Quick reminder: It's not too late to get your flu shot if you havent gotten it yet - they're widely available statewide!
November 6, 2025 at 1:51 AM
Children's Hospital of Colorado has seen a rise in positive Flu samples, and their "Bug Watch" publication indicates an early flu season is possible.
November 6, 2025 at 1:51 AM
While Flu Levels in wastewater remain low, Flu A is being detected in 3 utilities: Boulder, South Platte, and Breckenridge.
November 6, 2025 at 1:51 AM
Wastewater continues to show that levels of viruses remain low. However, there *IS* a recent uptick in both COVID & Flu detections.

While COVID trends remain mostly decreasing (15 of 21), utilities are increasing in Southern Colorado and the Northern Front Range.

Hospital Admissions (comparing to initial #s for last week)

Covid: 32, down from 36 last week.
Flu: 14, flat.
RSV: 2, down from 3.

Levels remain low.

To sum it all up?

COVID, Flu & RSV activity remains very low across the state, but there is a chance RSV may be kicking off soon.

Measles is being detected in wastewater in two cities, Colorado Springs and Steamboat Springs, with no reported cases at this time.
October 23, 2025 at 12:37 AM
Specific dates of the measles detections are not publicly available, but the Wastewater results added since Friday reflect the dates 10/14-10/16 for the other tested viruses.

This may be advance warning of exposures in these cities!

As Measles cases are often reported late, this may aid early id.
October 23, 2025 at 12:37 AM
The big story this week is Measles, which is being detected at TWO utilities: Steamboat Springs and Colorado Springs Las Vegas.

No additional Measles cases have been reported in the last few days.

The last reported exposures occurring in La Veta between 10/12 & 10/15.
October 23, 2025 at 12:37 AM
The COVID Wastewater continues to look great. Almost all utilities are in "steady decrease" and the average and median remain VERY low.

The COVID median and average are now as low as they were at their lowest levels in late spring.

Flu and RSV remain practically nonexistent in wastewater samples
October 23, 2025 at 12:37 AM
The front page says that COVID Positivity has skyrocketed to 11.86%, but the Positivity graph shows it much lower. So I don't think the data showing on the front page is accurate, as the LARGE jump is also the only indicator that is climbing at all, and it's SUCH a big jump

Hospital Admissions (comparing to initial #s for last week)

Covid: 51, down from 55 last week.
Flu: 8, flat.
RSV: 5, up from 0.

This is the first time there has been more than 2 RSV hospitalizations since June, indicating the RSV season may be ramping up now.

Thanks! Shared with several cc folks!

To Sum it all up?

Covid Wastewater, Hospitalizations, and positivity remain low.

Flu and RSV are still rare.

Many changes to the CDPHE dashboards, the changes and additions to the Wastewater dashboard are particularly positive! (yay Measles data! Yay Fort Collins data!)
October 16, 2025 at 3:40 PM
CDPHE made several changes to the Viral Respiratory Dashboard:

- Adding an estimate of "Overall Viral Respiratory illness activity"
- Dropping the variant data visualization & hospital admissions from this front page table

No explanation of the changes has been published.

In more exciting news, they are also now reporting wastewater detections for Measles!

As with Mpox, Copies/ml are not reported, only "no detection, detection, persistent detection". Fortunately, there are no recent detections.
October 16, 2025 at 3:40 PM
The COVID Wastewater trends continue to be mostly in steady decrease, with the median & average now lower than they have been since June.

In exciting news, CDPHE's wastewater team is now reporting wastewater data from Fort Collins!

Flu is only being detected in Highlands Ranch.

Hospital Admissions (comparing to initial #s for last week)

Covid: 55, down from 60 last week.
Flu: 8, down from 9.
RSV: 0, down from 2.

The hospitalization counts are now available on the front page in the chart, but are no longer in the table below the viz.

The ICE officers have signed up to willingly destroy the lives of immigrants with no criminal background.

They are pointing guns at US Citizens and shooting Americans to do it. If their work environment is being made too unpleasant by the protestors, they should quit.
October 8, 2025 at 4:06 PM
GOOD GRIEF with your first guest.

"It is the aim of some of the protestors to make life difficult for the ICE officers because they believe they are engaged in illegal immoral behavior".

They are.

They are kidnapping people, disappearing them.
Boohoo that their work environment is unpleasant.

Its unreasonable how tricky it has been to find pediatric vaccines ANYWHERE outside the Denver Metro. I’m glad you found them ❤️
October 3, 2025 at 1:52 PM
Amazing! I was able to get my kiddo his COVID shot at his pediatrician’s office :-). It was a really great experience!
