Orcas were spotted using kelp as a grooming tool on each other, the first known use of tools among cetaceans for something other than hunting prey.

Incredibly moving. 1000s of Lithuanians lined the streets of the capital Vilnius yesterday to honor the four US soldiers killed on their soil.

As their bodies are repatriated to the US, their President will be nowhere to be seen, except on a Florida golf course.

And this, folks, is why I do NOT support policy-based solutions to the local news crisis. When one party eagerly shreds the Constitution to impose its will, government cannot be trusted with funding of a free press.

It’s a tragedy he seems more interested in college basketball.

Kerri ni Dochartaigh, a featured speaker for Ohio University’s Spring Literary Festival, was denied entry to the United States. Given OU’s pre-emptive compliance with anti-DEI measures, I’m guessing they’ll roll over on this, too.

Heartbreakingly, I was refused entry yesterday to the states (I was meant to be a festival at OU) so I’m not getting to experience this wonderful place ! X

And yet news industry “leaders” love to talk glowingly about AI and offer training on integrating it into our work. Because way too many of those “leaders” haven’t actually done journalism in a decade or more and don’t ask actual journalists what we need.

The Trump administration is setting the stage to put the unitary executive theory before SCOTUS — which has already issued a ruling (in Trump v. United States) that’s very much aligned with UE. And the GOP Congress seems perfectly happy to cede power to the executive branch.

The good news is that reactionary centrists are engaging in some self-reflection on the excesses of the right-wing backlash to 'wokeness.'

The bad news is that they are saying it is woke people's fault.
