When the world serves up a shit tsunami - basically, everyday - I find spending time watching the hummingbirds keeps me calm. Took about two weeks of daily work to get this one comfortable enough to hand feed. It's a process.

Prosopanache is the tropical American answer to Hydnora of Africa. The two genera are sisters, holoparasitic & lack chlorophyll. They appear above ground only as flowers. This is Prosopanche americana, parasitic on legumes. 📷: Agustín Zarco CCBY4 #Aristolochiaceae #Botany 🌾🧪🌱

Apparently today is National Harvest Mouse day so here are some rather adorable photos I was able to take a couple of years ago, on the best photography day ever.
Harvest mice are astonishingly cute, and fast, and some of the other creatures I photographed that day would have loved to eat them!

I figured I'd share what this incredible bolete's pores look like since it's one of my favorite things about this beautiful mushroom. Red-pored bolete is an apt name for this, isn't it? Maybe they're more of a dark pink, but regardless, that color is mesmerizing, in my opinion! 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄 📷 🍄‍🟫
