It's only one self sufficient business, Michael. What could it cost? $200?

No, Air Canada should just give them what they're asking for

If they fly an average of 20 hours a week that's even more reason for them to be compensated for all the extra hours. Just because it has been part of the gig doesn't mean it should stay that way.

They are performing work off the clock for $0/hour. That's unacceptable and it's no wonder they are trying to change it. If the airline wants to pay them for all work performed as a compensation package, they should be salaried. But they aren't.

Well no, they don't. They get paid an hourly rate and they're working extra hours on top of that. It's not salaried. And it doesn't matter; it shouldn't be pro rated. Paid work should be paid. There's no wiggle room on this. It's not like this in any other job.

Damn lol

It's not complicated. People should be paid for the hours they worked. The union has the power to hold out for that; they should do so.

Flight attendants *are* an essential service, but that's all the more reason to give them what they want and treat them like the important people they are.

Why don't you just unsubscribe from the email list? I get BCNDP emails but not federal ones
August 17, 2025 at 1:00 AM
I would be very curious how many people stopped voting for the NDP in 2024 because their provincial/federal email list intertwined. I imagine it's much lower on the list than things like "wanting to stop Pierre" or "lack of action"

The membership sharing doesn't bother me but I do agree with you the lack of unity/policy sucks
August 16, 2025 at 9:59 PM
Why? What's wrong with the provincial parties?
