A calm observer.
If anyone hasn't seen it yet, I highly recommend A. Holland's film "Mr. Jones". It touches on this topic and is also very timely. A great film about decency against all odds.

I was wondering what was most shocking to me about Putin's plan as presented by Trump. It was this crude simplicity. The style and language reminiscent of mafia-style squabbles, and then I remembered a sketch by Monthy Phyton:

Maybe the Democrats themselves should start playing this game? When I watched Mamdani being unusually meek during his conversation with Trump yesterday, I felt they didn't understand.

While Vance lies to the American people, calling it "a fantasy" that victory could be close, the economic collapse that will bring down Russia if we persist, gets worse.

One Russian region has admitted it can no longer afford to pay its soldiers as @novaya_gazeta reports:

Ukraine stands at a crossroads. If it follows Trump's path, it knows where it will end up. If it takes the other path, anything could happen, including Trump's downfall and Russia's bankruptcy. It's worth the risk. Of course, Ukraine needs companions on this journey.

Did Starmer just say he accepts reality and expresses solidarity, and that Ukraine must deal with it on its own? Perhaps I'm misinterpreting this?

It's even worse. The US is making a profit on the war right now, and apparently they are willing to give up that in order to force through this Munich thing.

I spent a lot of last night chatting to Ukrainian friends, garnering reactions to Trump's order to surrender, & also to Zelenskyy's words in that emotional address to the nation.

Later, I'll bring some of their thoughts, but the thing they all agree on is Trump is a Russian asset.

There are 34 drones attacking Ukraine right now - 28 of them targeting Odesa region.

Three years. By then, little will remain of Trump's power, and Russia will be a crumbling bankrupt, no longer able to afford to invest in extreme movements in Europe. So it's worth contributing to the AFU for decades to come. We'll still be in debt anyway.

So you think Trump's plan is okay? Do you consider top-down restrictions on an independent state's domestic and international policies a "feasible" and rational solution? Do you think it's okay that Trump comes to the rescue when Putin is unable to bring Ukraine to its knees?

Russia already has a press secretary, Mr. Trump. Further threats no longer impress anyone.

Is an EU leader coming to Ukraine? A security notice has been circulated saying the centre of Kyiv will be shut down tomorrow morning, which normally only happens when VIPs attend.
