Every season ends with unfinished projects, but yeah the Cyberpunk City in particular is a bit of a bummer. But when most of the bases are pretty much done or close to done, to the point that the inspo isn't there for most hermits to get videos out on a regular basis, it just makes sense to reboot.

Idk, the idea that this isn't designed to cater to white supremacist ideology is just kind of outlandish to me. This is marketers following conservative cultural trends in an extreme environment. Like, Steak N Shake is all-in on owning the libs with beef tallow. Is this really that weird in context?

an anti-woke signifier by the online right (at least as far as its use in marketing), who is clearly increasingly comfortable leaning into this cultural role, talking about her good genes, like her hair and eye color, passed down from parents to offspring in a nostalgic ad. Like come on.

What I mean is that I’m still not convinced there’s value in celebrating good work within products that shouldn’t exist and actively make the game worse. Trying to find things to celebrate within $250 standard format non-Magic booster boxes and “Through the Omenpaths”-fiascos feels pretty wrong.

I’ve tried but can’t relate to even this mentality. They’ve adapted multiple IPs I love into UB at this point and I get that the designs are clever (because Magic employs clever designers) but it all just does… absolutely nothing for me.

They clearly delayed this decision and announcement because they hoped they would get their licensing sorted and wouldn't actually have to do this. I know the lack of physical printing allows for a faster timeline, but I'd still bet on a LOT of AI art making its way into the final set.
