The tree it's sitting on appears to have been severely poled/butchered and is possibly under heavy water stress, so kind of hard to tell. I think it works well enough given a smidgen of poetic licence ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ

3. Red kite swooping low over house

these may be a bit off topic but I love demonic stuff in religious settings. Samye Ling Tibetan monastery also has a dedicated Fairy Hill where people leave offerings to local beings from Scottish/Old English belief. And a clootie tree.

I got into a disastrous relationship because it appeared to be the other way round but wasn't. the conclusion I reached was that these effects were symptomatic of stuff I didn't know about myself trying/wanting to be acknowledged. ie my neurodivergence. they (eVenTUallY) led me to research it.

this happened to me for about a decade (pretty much concurrently with psychotherapy) then it stopped (it also extended to movies and TV shows). there's a line in "The Shipping News" along the lines of 'everything was encrusted with portent'. it wasn't one of the books though.

Also, the Noldor are like a super rich frat party that is vomiting all over Middle Earth's lawn or a mobster family that shoots up a whole city with its feuds. Middle Earth has to live with the aftermath, but they're not in it for Middle Earth; it's all about the beef with Morgoth. LOTR changed that
