these may be a bit off topic but I love demonic stuff in religious settings. Samye Ling Tibetan monastery also has a dedicated Fairy Hill where people leave offerings to local beings from Scottish/Old English belief. And a clootie tree.

Poem by me: Spate The river is in spate, rising on the slowness of snow, a full-throated stream near brimming, breath bated by fallen trees; a full five feet at the bridge. I feel the old flow as it goes, and head upstream, noting the loss of a bent elder, once a bridge for rats, cats and squirrels to the horse field. The egret eyes me from the field, his whiteness echoing the feathering of snow clinging to nearby clumps of grass. and he is full, he is there, he is pushing with life melting something carrying the thaw We skirt the secrets of the carr, our words make free-flying strands, lifted by the winds at its edge, the entangled song of a robin. today, his yellow willows catch in my hair on the way home

Poem by me titled "Aduu": Foaled in the Shiliingol Ceramics Factory, I follow my nose, which finds the grassland sure as an iron pin, or the bit between my teeth. My people graze reserves of coal; a fossilised wave that will soon swamp us all. Already, I carry more memories than herdsmen. Lay the reins across my neck, crouch in the stirrups I'll take you to what's left of the steppes in the mind; we'll go the the steppes that remain to be mined. I do not want a carrot. I squealed at the gates of Vienna, bit my neighbour on the rump, drank deep and long at Goliath's Well. We could take you again. I am the racehorse you borrowed that evening, the rolling grey grass­dunes turning beneath us, as we left the others behind on the hillside, running at the centre of the earth's great smokehole, the sky spilling itself over the close­cropped land, the horizon retreating, trying to hold it. 1. Aduu means horse in Mongolian. 2. The Mongol Empire had its first significant defeat at the battle of Ayn Jalout (the well/spring of Goliath), 1260

it reminds me of the Samye Ling (Tibetan) Monastery in Scotland where they have prayer flags in a scottish landscape. they also have a clootie tree and a Fairy Hill shrine in keeping with local customs.

People tie cloths to a clootie tree in British/Scottish folk magic to pray for recovery (as the cloth fades, so does the illness or affliction) or as a marker for prayers and wishes.
