Justified can look nice, but you either have to spend a lot of time fiddling with spacing to avoid the weird gaps or start breaking words across lines.

Personally, after doing layout at a newspaper for a few years I can’t stand doing justified anymore.

There’s definitely something here. I’m reading Providence by Max Barry right now and one of the main things there is a character who hid his claustrophobia to get on a spaceship crew and is now getting increasingly destructive dealing with that and the boredom of the spaceship. Good stuff.

Sad to report we’d use “trash” in exactly that way in the US with both possible meanings, same with “garbage”
