Dangerously close to writing a fully diegetic “treatise” on poisons for Cairn or something like that.
Had a passing thought about making a poisons system based on the four humors and medieval medicine, but it turns out actual medieval doctors spent centuries thinking through that only to decide you couldn’t explain poisons based just on that and you also needed astrology involved for the stars 1/2

Hey, get a load of this wizard tower. It's my escape room puzzle dungeon infused with my love for zelda and crystal fantasy. It's almost finished and now it's crowdfunding 🥲

Today I am participating in a Dungeon Inc promo actual play for the Merry Mushmen.

Feeling a bit nervous but it should be ok.

Dungeon Inc is an OSR adjacent game where you play the employee monsters of the dungeon. Reverse D&D hijinxes situation.

It's Sunday here, and time for this week's review!

This time we're looking at Fort Sanglot, a French tri-fold for OSE.

It's got vampires, and bandits, and twists and turns to surprise your players! I like it!

Toucan’t Blog: Where Does Mausritter Exist?

Brad Kerr famously doesn’t read blogs, so I feel safe quoting him out of context and starting some lighthearted beef

Realized the main thing holding me back from this is mapping, but also that Donjon exists, so I’ve got a big ass map now and it’s time to get to work
I think it might be time to write a megadungeon. Feeling aimless today in my free time now that I finished the most recent dungeon I was working on. It’s nice to have a bit of writing to chip away at in small chunks when I can.

You all seemed to think it was funny, and despite its utter failure to end all discourse forever I would be failing to big myself up appropriately if i didnt put forward "What is an OSR" for your consideration. My other nominations in the thread below :)

No more rolling for random weather. Your calendar and the weather are one and the same. In this blogpost I present a full year of weather, with simple mechanical effects for #osr games. I particularly like the water drinking rule for the month of Scorch.

Last day to nominate posts for the bloggies. If you need some suggestions I posted a few of my nominations every day in this thread the past month.
elmc.at elmcat @elmc.at · Jan 2
I've collected a bunch of posts to submit for the Bloggies this year, and I've already highlighted a few. I think I'll keep sharing a couple each day until submissions close.

Mostly to show off some great work this year, and to (lovingly) bully more people into reading blogs.

For goblin week, have this passage from One for the Morning Glory.

This is the description of goblins that has stuck with me more than any other. Everything they do is a corruption and mockery of how things are done in the world above.

It’s done! 101 entries for 14 rooms, but it’s done. Still needs proofreading and playtesting, but this thing will be ready to see the light of day soon.

Let me know if you’re interested in playtesting an old school choose-your-own-adventure dungeon.

#OSR #TTRPG
The problem with writing a choose-your-own-adventure style dungeon is the number of entries you have to write skyrocketing as you deal with all the possible conditions. I’ve only done 4 rooms of this latest one so far and I’m nearing 60 entries dealing with the possibilities for each.
