Hope you soon feel better and are able to manage at least a short steady run.

I know. But I did like not getting up in the pitch dark this morning, swings and roundabouts I guess!

I agree. They also dry more quickly, which probably says something about both the thickness and composition of the materials they are made from.

When I was little we had to give away a toy before Christmas, sth we didn’t play with anymore but was in good condition. It went to a local org that gave toys to children who otherwise wouldn’t get a present. We knew why we did it because it was explained to us. It was a Christmas tradition for us.

I remember when I did my year abroad that we were still on BST when I went to France and they'd already changed the clocks, so no time difference. Very confusing in a strange way (and annoying as I felt I didn't regain my lost hour from the spring!)

I've just written myself a list of PhD related tasks to complete next week (half term), there's also gardening that needs doing and stuff around the house. Let's see how much I actually manage to do...

5.5 miles, 3 with a friend then finished off solo as I wanted to run further than her. Half marathon next week.

This is so sad, reading books together is so important for children, not just for their reading and understanding but for relationships. Also my absolute favourite bedtime stories were the 'Daddy make-ups' as we used to call them, time with my dad was so special to me.
