One thing to note about FDA firings is how little money is saved while doing extensive damage, economic and otherwise.
FDA's budget is $7.2B, but that's not what it costs the government. $3.5B (48.6%) of that budget is covered by 'user fees' charged to companies for review / approval / etc.
