I'm a scientitian. Not sure exactly what my brand is here other than if I see a wild animal, you're gonna hear about it!
I was driving into deepest darkest Dublin just before rush hour with google maps. Out of the phone speaker - not the car speaker, mind - I hear "Hi, I'm gemini and I'm hear to assist you!" I basically roared "fuck off!" at it till it shut up. I was absolutely livid!

Reading this article, I think this might be why a chunk of my generation can't speak Irish. We were shown a picture and then repeated a memorised sentence and learned... what, exactly?

I would like to expand the market for wild venison - in my belly
Donegal farmers launch wild venison snacks venture - In many parts of Ireland deer numbers will need to be reduced to restore and re-establish native woodlands. Expanding the market for wild venison is only a good thing.

Duh. That's because all we got was an email saying "Revenue has sent you new LPT correspondence" and you had to log in to see it. I had filed it under "January" in my head. Found out 2 days ago I was supposed to do something about it. Don't know why the deadline had to be today.

I'm trying to watch the #IREvNZ match on virgin media player and it's just silently playing ads over and over. What do I do?

It’s critical that you NUMBER your presidential choice. It’s a proportional representation vote, so you vote in order of your preference 1, 2, 3. No other markings should be made unless you wish to spoil your vote. #SpeirGhorm #Aras25

Astrology, psychics, crystals and other forms of woo are not harmless and people should not be able to make money from them. It's the 21st century. We know this stuff is not real!
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

This is something people who are chatbot-curious should be doing by default: ask it about something you *do know about*, not something you *don't know about*.
As an experiment, I asked ChatGPT to give me a walking route in my neighbourhood and to describe the scenery. I've also asked it to describe plot features of movies I've seen. It spews out bullshit.

No, "the world's taste for soya" isn't to blame: most people won't taste any soya, but the meat, dairy, eggs and fish produced very inefficiently with the soya as feed.
