My thoughts on the “male loneliness” epidemic:

There are many high profile examples of what women are looking for in a partner:

Tom Holland
Travis Kelce
Prince Harry
George Clooney
Klay Thompson
Benny Blanco
Jason Kelce
Russel Wilson

They all have the same thing in common:

Trump tells TIME that when he said he would end the war in Ukraine on Day One, he was saying that "figuratively."

"I said that as an exaggeration."

Trump refuses to introduce Senators Adam Schiff and Alex Padilla.

No man has ever been this small.
Trump: "We have a couple senators here. I just don't particularly like them, so I won't introduce."

Whoa.

What we saw last night in the Senate was outrageous! When an arsonist is burning down your house, you don’t write them a check for more fuel.

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

This spineless embarrassment was confirmed unanimously by the Senate. This is what appeasement gets you. Glad that so many Senators are FINALLY recognizing the need to fight. I hope there are enough

The court date for the lawsuit against Section 504 is February 25. If this law is removed, Deaf and disabled individuals could lose the right to ASL interpreters at the doctor’s office, in schools, and at work. This is a direct attack on accessibility & equal rights!

AMID. BACKLASH.

We have power. Our calls, our stories, our spending, our conversations, our votes matter.

A few thoughts:
1. Speak up everywhere, combine all of your micro power into macro power
2. Remember you are an expert
3. Don’t take no for an answer
4. Keep your patients at the center of everything you do
5. Be yourself (people like people who sound like real people)
Prescription power yes, but also some amount of social standing, influence, and privilege.

So I ask, instead of getting mad at the things I cannot change, how can I wield my limited doctor power to make positive change?

I don’t trust politicians already making pronouncements about the way forward that promotes their own political agenda or aspirations, or distances them/us from vulnerable communities that need our support. Look for the elected officials who are taking a pause to listen/learn.

I would like to speak up today for the trans community.

You see, I know a bit of what it’s like to be politically scapegoated. When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, suddenly anyone in America who had any amount of Japanese ancestry became suspect. Politicians preyed upon ignorance and fear. /1
