The Geneva Window, the exquisite but ill-fated final masterpiece by Ireland’s “strangest genius” Harry Clarke. I tell its emotional story in my novel. 2nd pic is the Nelly the dancer from Liam O’Flaherty’s ‘Mr Gilhooley’, made for the Geneva Window. It’s in the Hugh Lane Gallery.
Not only was I unaware that LED masks have become a staple of at-home skincare, I was ignorant of their very existence until today. I think I’ll soldier on without.

I’ve written another romcom! It’s about two scriptwriters who can’t stop arguing but have to work together to save a TV show. Also there is kissing. I loved writing it and you can pre-order it here! linktr.ee/LoveSceneAnn...

Had my heart broken all over again watching this, a superb adaptation of a brilliant book. 😢

I love when you have a character’s image in your mind reading a book and the person who’s cast in the TV version fits your image. For me Tom Cullen is perfect as Michael in Trespasses, based on the brilliant book by @louisekennedy.bsky.social
Can’t wait to watch it.

Delighted with my latest signed book, by the incredibly knowledgeable expert on Irish stained glass, Dr David Caron. Image is a detail from a window in St Peter’s Church Phibsboro, which happens to be the nearest Harry Clarke to where I live.

Astounding that the first substantive mention of #climate in entire Presidential election campaign should occur during Catherine Connolly’s acceptance speech, which she rightly labelled an “existential crisis”.

Neither the main political parties nor our national media seem remotely interested.

Dublin Central are going to have to UP THEIR GAME.
The home of the O'Donovan family is being used as a polling station in Coolmoyne, Co Tipperary. Around 250 people are eligible to vote at the house and after they cast their ballot, they will be treated to a cup of tea, a slice of apple or rhubarb tart, or a scone | More: rte.ie/b/1540324

Currently reading an Irish historical fiction novel in which one of the characters wields a “hurley bat” and another greets a friend with “Dia agat”. Authenticity is not its strong point.

Got to see the first two episodes of the Leonard and Hungry Paul TV show in a small cinema with the crew and cast. With genuine and heartfelt sincerity, I loved it. I feel so grateful to everyone who worked on it.

I hope you all love it as much as I do (but I think you will).

Fun event today at Dublin Festival of history. Eight historians spoke for six minutes each about an object or document, which included an enamel chamber pot from a Dublin tenement, a menu from a 1958 wedding in the Shelbourne, a Bewley’s tea caddy and the oldest map of the city.
