Science (chemistry laboratory) by day, crochet by night, easily distracted all the time. Love my dog, my books, my peace and quiet, and my craft projects. "Set your course by the stars, not by the lights of every passing ship." ~Omar Bradley~ she/her
Assembled a shelving unit that I thought was the right size to fit the wall space I had available, and fortunately it did. Got a lot of organizing to do but since I'm apparently not cut out for minimalism more shelves are always needed.

Working through ball number 10 of 11 before I think this will be a good size to finish off my blanket (but if I need more length, I estimated needing 13 balls so I have plenty of extra yarn). Should be finished soon then on to another project. 🙂

Picked up the blown glass pumpkin I made last week.

It's bigger than the purple one I made last year so I might have to rearrange my shelf, but for now it has a home in the window. 🙂

BABY BLANKET FINISHED. And my cousin with the baby it is intended for will be visiting tomorrow so just in time.

I don't know if she has a particular aesthetic in mind for her kid's room so hopefully she likes it.

Weaving in the last end! Still got a list for this weekend, but this NEEDED to be done by tomorrow. And it will be and before 1:00 am too! 😄

Lol I got a flannel shirt with squirrels on it. 😄

Because I'm a weirdo who likes learning new crafts (and both baskets I made last fall were claimed by my nieces) I learned how to make another kind of basket yesterday. My other class in a month is going to be longer and a larger basket, so that is for people who have had a few classes already.

Needed just a few random things from the grocery store, so made a quick trip after lunch with a couple friends. I try to avpid impulsive purchases unless they are inexpensive, but saw this LEGO set on the shelf and immediately HAD TO GET IT.

Besides, the pumpkin I made last year needs a friend.

Everything is horrible but at least I'm now more than halfway done with a crocheted blanket. So I have that going for me, which is nice.

Cool late summer evenings are perfect for walking my dog, taking a deep breath, and ignoring the news for a bit. Plus I see a nice sunset over the field behind the school and get a close look at the neighborhood Coopers hawk flying in front of me. 🙂

Found 2 sets of 5 fat quarters that I have no idea when or where I got them. Asked my mom if I could rummage through her vast collection of fat quarters that she had no plans for, and found 10 more I liked. With 20 fat quarters I can make a quilt!

Once it cools off a little! Fall project.

My poor old girl had to go to the vet today and get her blood drawn (very stressful), a vaccination (also stressful), and I gave her trazadone and benadryl this morning so she's REALLY DOPEY. But I did take her for a pup cup after since she was so good.

Now she's exhausted from her busy day.

Haha. It doesn't matter if it is hot, my dog MUST have a pile of blankets to nest in at all times.

Judging by her looks she's part pittie so it makes sense that blanket deficiency is a real problem. 😄

Not at all excited about doing yard work in the heat, but this was my last chance to mow before the heat advisory kicks off tomorrow morning. Weeds and grass are short enough I won't run afoul of weed ordinances and that's what matters.

Signed up to do a little indigo dyeing workshop this weekend and made these three bandanas. Was quite easy so yes, I'm going to order some of the dye we used for more experimenting. Blue is my favorite color so I kind of have to. 😄

So I impulsively volunteered to help the local botanical gardens pull up their tulips now that they have stopped blooming. They provided pitchforks and as payment volunteers could take whatever tulip bulbs they wanted.

Not bad for just under an hour of work, but now I need to find space to plant!

I wish I had this few worries. She's exhausted because I took her to the groomer this morning for a bath and nail trim.

Hopefully these taste better than they look. I got a new toaster oven and it runs hot so im still trying to figure out timing and how low to reduce the temperature. Plus it takes me at least 3 times as long for prep as any recipe calls for so the crescent rolls were soft by the time I baked them.

Cool and cloudy outside, so these seem good afternoon plans. I was thinking about doing yard work but I'll have to charge up the batteries for my mower first so not today.

The tree in question. It spreads out more than going up, and once it leafs out the numerous dead branches are obvious. Probably time to go.
