The thing that gets me about this is that even if we wanted to make a positive AI ad, they never showcase AI being used to enhance someone’s day or improve their workflow. There’s no “it allows me to more easily do what I love.” It’s always presented as a failsafe for the dispassionate and incurious

i think these moments are instructive - the real qualm with hamas appears not to be their methods of violence, or any specific detail of their ideology - but the plain fact of their position: they stand for palestinian liberation and against the occupation
Setting aside the incredibly dangerous and fascist aspect of this, is there actual evidence that Khalil was a “Hamas supporter”? Or is the standard for a green-card holder being sent to a secret location and possibly deported just “critical of Israel”?

many people seem to understand how the mega-rich can subvert democracy by purchasing a political party's loyalty, but pull up short of understanding that they can just do that to the whole system. as if their wealth only gets one vote & has to pick a side
