Windows/Linux source port with OpenGL graphics for Catacomb 3D (1991), Catacomb Abyss (1992), Catacomb Armageddon (1992) and Catacomb Apocalypse (1993).
I once played through all episodes of Crystal Caves HD, so I can imagine that it's gonna be quite some work to program all mechanics from scratch. Nevertheless, I can tell from the updates that you're having a lot of fun with this project. Nice work so far!

This is the one episode from the first series that I remember the most. Sure, it’s dark comedy. But I think it also raises some awareness about a very dark part of human history.

Well, "Nemesis" does sound like a typical archenemy. Also, the Gamer's Edge disks had very limited distribution, so I guess few people would have noticed the swap.

The young Id Software team intended "Grelminar" to be the lich and "Nemesis" the guy-to-be-rescued. Later on in the retail release the names got swapped by Softdisk. More info can be found on Romero's blog: rome.ro/news/2017/8/...

There are only a few differences between the Gamer's Edge version and the Catacomb 3-D retail version. The most obvious one is that the names of the final boss and the guy-to-be-rescued are swapped.

The Catacombs Pack from GOG contains the retail release of Catacomb 3-D, but the Catacomb 3-D Big Box ships with a different version. It's the initial v1.00 release, exactly as how it was created by Id Software in November 1991 for the Gamer's Edge disk magazine.
