Unschooling is more like student-led education. I was able to follow my own interests as a means of learning. For me, that meant learning at a college level in middle school. This is not (and should not be) the case for all children.

We opted to drive 9+ hrs to our vacation because the idea of flying (which I’ve never previously had an issue with) made me queasy with anxiety. 😬

I think it depends. When the person is ND or dealing with an unusual amount of stress, etc. that can make time and task management extra challenging.
HOWEVER:
The above is context, not justification. If you feel that this indicates low prioritization, that's telling.

I think there is something to be said for the flag (especially flag swag - forgive the rhyme) as something of a shibboleth.
I have this kneejerk reaction where I find myself trying to determine if they’re patriotic or nationalistic.
I’m neutral on the flag itself. The issue for me is the why.
