People talk a lot of smack about GTA 5 after RDR2, as if the series ever pretended to be anything but a poop-humored sandbox. That at least is honest, when RDR2 aims for that same melodramatic filmic style of TLOU—that they've complained about for years—but with worse writing.

The Sopranos really pulled this stunt, but so incredibly late into the show as to completely shatter the suspension of disbelief that no one mentioned the character before, only to then kill them off for no other reason than to serve as a nepotistic cameo for one season.
