Yeah, the Copenhagen PRI purchase specifies only one Astral, but something expensive is definitely not being mentioned.

I think the strategy is that you put the effort into researching your best option and by the time you get the quotes, you’ve essentially committed to that vendor.
Then asking another vendor for their equivalent MS purchase is essentially a tick-box exercise, rather than a genuine comparison.

GSA advantage is the best for the US since it covers all of the government.
Some public institutions (like state universities) have the tenders publicly available, but they’re a nightmare to find as each institution has their own way of making it available.

Note that in this system, the tender value can be withheld, but you can still see which vendor won the tender.

Curious how they'll handle it at the conference, it's in the middle of a session. Good to see things are a constant across the commonwealth, despite where we're placed on the globe.

This is due to training cut-offs, and because in human review, manuscripts are compared against the reviewers accumulated experience, which is not primarily stored in a textual format that is publicly accessible for the LLM to use. This argues against using centralised LLMs for peer review.

It’s obvious, but it’s missing the “human” element. Specifically, calculating the amount of money and effort required to satisfy a claim. Some approaches are just impractical.

I’ve tried it and I can see it becoming the implemented solution by publishers for the reviewer shortage problem.
Which is my biggest concern.

It’s so cute and small. Pretty refreshing to see a new MS instrument isn’t taller, wider, or longer than a car.

I think this has been almost ready since 2023, but Astral releases took precedence. It also helps sell TMT which is also vendor-specific.
San Diego is almost a home conference for San Jose, so makes sense to have the local hardware advances showcased.
