Tonight I picked up a lot of old cooking print media & ephemera. There’s a mix of ‘official’ government-sponsored material, commercially produced recipe books & advertising material, as well as some personal recipe cards & newspaper clippings. 😍

Went for my first skate of the season. I'm loving the winter weather and so looking forward to the canal opening this weekend!

Last day of classes and this semester's office hours. Next up: finish grading, a little break and then back to preparing my research proposal. 📚

It's nice to be done my foundational reading. I'm so looking forward to starting my research and getting into the nitty gritty of this PhD.

Hello, friends 👋🏻

Thought I'd make a short intro post. My name is Casarina, I'm a PhD candidate researching foodways & gardens amongst settlers on the Canadian prairies during the 20th C. I also work outside of my PhD, so I'm v busy.

Packing some things for O. and this is the list. I love the he specifies the gloves are from my mum, even though he has about 10 pairs of gloves and they look very similar and I have no idea which ones my mum gave him.

Luna and I snuggled on the sofa this morning, while I caught up with O. This girl has been so cuddly these days. 🥺
