All one needs to do is look at what happened after the Gulf War when American companies got the majority of reconstruction contracts to see that this would happen. Did the Eu really not see this coming? I suspect some of the money finds its way into Trump and Putin’s pockets as well

It strikes me that people have a short memory pre-labour.

1. Gave public money to their interested parties
2. Wasted public money on projects that never materialised
3. Brexit
