You are not limited by the movies Film Twitter is obsessed with. So many of the best films of 2025 are smaller international gems that deserve so much more attention than they are receiving...

The Final Reckoning is my favorite Mission: Impossible film. Absurd in size and stakes, the film takes every scene and asks how it can make it as big and thrilling as possible. The film is so close to losing control, but somehow it makes everything work. Hard to think of many blockbusters this fun.

Now that it is available to rent, please watch Việt and Nam. A profound film that I am still processing and not over. My heart swells and breaks for the film.

And this is a wide issue within the film conversation today. Look at those who turned the bomb of Horizon: An American Saga into a meme. Sorry, it is actually HORRIFYING that the industry cannot support a genre epic, what is funny about a largely self-financed genre film like this failing?

The way people refused to engage with or give attention to some of Pixar/Disney's most creatively interesting and diverse feature projects, allowing them to get caught in stupid political discourse and bomb and no are shocked that they are going back to the safety of established sequels and remakes

#BlackBag is an absolute blast! Soderbergh crafts an incredibly engaging and thrilling spy mystery. The dialogue is electric and weaves together both a rewarding mystery and larger meditation on the power of information, truth, and privacy. The entire ensemble is wonderful and the runtime is perfect

Wolf Man is a wildly mixed effort. While the film has some incredible camera work, the character designs are laughably poor. While the film has a meaningful conversation on substance abuse and generational trauma, it also has some of the worst-written characters of recent time. #WolfMan #FilmSky
