Oh my, the colors on this fabulous lil’ guy 🤩
Love how my feed is 90% politics peppered w/ cool nature pics/ videos, cats & the Northern Lights.
Went off on a tangent inspired by this tanager of where to put the apostrophe in the shortened form of “little”.
Wishing I’d made this a haiku…

#altTextTips

Veronica offers up tips and resources around alt text here.

I’m glad so many people have found my “capybara method” for how to write alt text and image descriptions helpful! However, I know conflicting access needs exist and not everyone can write their own #AltText, so here’s an ongoing thread of tools that can help. Inclusion in thread ≠ endorsement

And here’s how to use the OCR button for images that are text heavy. bsky.app/profile/pixe...

#AltTextTips
If you go into the text dense screenshot, you’ll see a little icon in the lower right. Three lines, corner brackets. Tap that sucker!

Now you have highlighted text & if you tap again the controls to select a portion and copy-paste will come up.

"The catch is that in order to get attention, you have to be terrible. You have to lie or embrace evil. In the attention economy there is enormous demand for civic blasphemy. What’s hard is getting attention for messages about truth, or virtue, or love."
Why Cory Booker’s Speech Matters
Booker didn’t “accomplish” anything. He was a voice of one crying in the wilderness. And that’s how you build a dissident movement: with simple acts of witness.

Gov. Mills is a friend of one of my mentors, so I always appreciate reading stories about her. This one makes me especially proud. It is also an example for how I try to lead: doing what’s right, one step at a time, even in the face of bullies.
I’m pretty sure this is what voters want from their elected officials

I’m not wearing earrings today, which feels almost the same way I imagine it would feel to show up to work without pants on.

One of the tabs I accidentally closed was from a Canadian law firm that starts: “I just read an amazing blog by “The Jolly Mama” - that was me. I wrote the post they referenced. galbraithfamilylaw.com/blog/divorce...
Divorce Depression and Grief
I just read an amazing blog by "The Jolly Mama". It is an amazingly honest description of the emotional struggles of separation and divorce from someone going through it.

Two things: I watched The Family Stone for the first time ever this wknd, and because of a cold, I am making the same annoying throat clearing noise as SJP’s character. Last night, though, dosed on NyQuil, I dreamt that Kamala Harris gave me a giant hug, lifting me up off the ground! Chiaroscuro.
