@maryharris.bsky.social Just dropped by to say hey. :) Love What Next. Your interviews are unpretentious, smart, and thoughtful. You ask great questions and somehow manage to find the humor or hope even when it's all pretty bleak.

Workers tell us it is hot in Western NY's apple orchards. On this day temps hit 96°. Plus there has been a number of heat waves over the last month or so. Despite the heat they are hard at work de-leafing the trees to encourage better fruit production and quality. #WeFeedYou

I look forward to the day of accountability. We must fight with all we have to make sure that day comes.

“Congress” didn’t pass this murder budget.

Republicans did it.

Republicans did it without a single Democratic vote in the House, without a single Democratic vote in the Senate.

Be precise and give, uh, credit where credit is due

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Senator Padilla was driven violently to his knees–as if made to kneel before the authority of the executive–because the administration called his questions “disrespectful”.

This should offend not just the other 99 Senators. It should offend the conscience of this country.

Yet again, yes it's okay to be pissed that Democrats aren't doing more.

But framing Democrats as the only ones with agency while Republicans hold the balance of power and still get to whoops-a-daisy into authoritarianism is bullshit.

Call your GOP reps.

This indictment is no more justified than the original charges. I will not be intimidated. My full statement:
