Happy Donor Day! I look at the world through recycled corneas. Fuchs Dystrophy blurred out most of my vision, but two kind donors and their families gave it back. I am incredibly grateful and think about them every day. Please consider being an organ, eye, and/or tissue donor.

Among all the other great stuff out today (including but not limited to The Imposition of Unnecessary Obstacles by @older.bsky.social, What Feasts at Night by @tkingfisher.bsky.social, etc) I just saw there's a new Yangsze Choo novel and audibly gasped: bookshop.org/p/books/the-...

So, here's a thing: when I first arrived as a novelist, people were wondering if I would be "The Next Heinlein," and it eventually became clear that no, I was going to be the first me. It's going to be just fine if Bluesky is not the next Twitter and is instead the first Bluesky.
TechScape: Bluesky opens up to the world – but can anything really replace Twitter?
After a year in invite-only beta mode, anyone can sign up for the new social network. Whether they will want to stay is another matter
