This is an excellent point. On the other hand if the societal direction of travel was in any way dictated by popular culture then we would have learned something from the fairly numerous sci-fi scenarios in which technology bites us on the bum.
"the wild robot" is a fun movie. recommended. but i think we are now at a point in time in which "robot interacts with environment and starts to bypass its programming and 'act from its heart'" tropes are actively harmful to children (and adults, actually).

None of these are Gen AI systems trained on user content.
