I was the featured poet at a local open mic last night, and it was good to be in the room with other creatives. Sitting there, absorbing others’ works was the healing power boost I needed to rattle the doom cloud surrounding me.

It's that most wonderful time of the day, when replete with early morning baby time, I put him down for his first nap and then pour my first cup of coffee and crack open the laptop to write/edit/whatnot.

When I turned 40, I had 320 short story rejections and no books published. A few years later, I've published a short story collection and two novels with another on the way. Believe in yourself like someone who loves you.
