ML uncovers 24h rhythms in cancer 🕒🧬
Using COFE ☕, we reconstruct #circadian rhythms from human tumor biopsies across 11 #cancer types!
Turns out, tumor #clocks tick in a different timezone 🕰️💊

Study of #circadian rhythms requires repeated sampling, but @timelyscientist.bsky.social &co present COFE, a #MachineLearning algorithm that enables virtual sampling of internal human tissues over time, revealing insights into circadian rhythms of human #tumors @plosbiology.org 🧪 plos.io/3Zx1Lt6

@granadalab.bsky.social recently showed how circadian coupling regulates cell growth. In order to regulate the cell on the inside, we should look outside! Great pleasure to write News&Views together with Jae Kyoung Kim! @mpinb.mpg.de

Outside-in regulation of cellular clocks - Nature Physics
Circadian clocks and cell division cycles are coupled. Now a study shows how cell-to-cell synchronization of circadian rhythms regulates cell division and growth.

New work out in @naturephysics.bsky.social
Led by @NicaGutu & Malthe Nordentoft + great collaborators.

We show that circadian synchrony shapes cell growth. When coordination is lost, clock–cell cycle coupling breaks down.

May help explain paradoxes in circadian cancer biology.
