I am far more concerned about Labour trying to heavy PBP-Solidarity out of the Left alliance than I am about whatever they are saying about Sinn Féin this week.

The party of JobBridge and privatising water need to cop themselves on.

They put Gillian Anderson on a platform so that Mulder and Scully could gaze intensely into each other's eyes in every episode of The X-Files.

People used to make proper television.

My native plants container. When I am weeding, I pop any native plants I take out into this planter.

Mowing a defined path or border somehow makes an area allowed to flower and set seed look deliberate and stylish rather than abandoned. Last year I took this photo of a gorgeous example from Blackrock Park in Dublin.

MUM: I am losing it, I swear there was a cushion on this couch a second ago.

ME: Oh, I needed it for the lemon pig fashion shoot. You can have it back in a sec.

MUM: Eh, I'll get another one. The pig is important.

Why do I imagine the two of you discussing your "low" number of works was essentially the xkcd comic "Familiarity"

If you know someone else with an allergy or food intolerance to mustard, I really like Holland & Barrett English Style Must-Not. It's mostly horseradish and turmeric, and cleans out the sinuses in a very satisfying way.

Mmmmm.... Squash.

Grabbed a red kuri squash / uchiki Kiri squash from my local shop. They are hard to find in Ireland, but they are my favourite of all the squash. I have grown them before, and every time I eat one I am motivated to do it again.

These sad looking plants are actually a successful experiment. For the past few years I have been growing autumn crocuses in pots. Details are over on my blog.

Flower arranging for beginners - bung a gladiolus in a bottle.

If I leg it out fast enough, I can usually snip these "Priscilla", gladioli at just the right moment - when the majority of the flowers on the spike have opened, but before the Irish wind snaps them.
