Medicaid isn’t a handout.
It’s the nurse at your grandma’s bedside.
The doctor delivering a baby in a rural clinic.
The meds keeping a disabled neighbor breathing.

Half of U.S. kids rely on it.

Call it what it is:
Compassion made policy.
Cutting it is cruelty, plain and simple.

Warnock: If I'm honest, there are days when I have to ask people of my faith tradition as a Christian, are we reading the same book?

The book I know says I was hungry and you fed me. I was sick, I was in prison and you visited me, I was a stranger and you welcomed me….

We can enjoy that Musk & Trump are flaming the hell out of each other. But we don’t need to take sides. I’m rooting for both of them to take mortal wounds.

At a town hall with veterans, @petebuttigieg.bsky.social talks about what the American flag means to him:

"What made America great is not something we dust off by saying the word 'again'. What makes America great is our ability to wrestle with our darkest demons & come out better for it."

HASSAN: What is habeas corpus?

NOEM: Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country

HASSAN: That's incorrect

A Christianity that is offended by someone advocating for the poor, the immigrant, the hungry, the sick, the marginalized, and the oppressed, is a Christianity that is offended by Jesus.

Therefore, it is no longer Christianity.

Given the literal definition of deportation is removing a foreigner or noncitizen from the country, we - journalists, media orgs - should probably all stop referring to the ‘deportation’ of a 2 year old US citizen. It’s NOT a deportation.

I’m not sure what it is. A kidnapping?

We want the war horse.
Jesus rides a donkey.

We want the eagle.
The Holy Spirit descends as a dove.

We want to take up swords.
Jesus takes up a cross.

We want the roaring lion.
God comes as a slaughtered lamb.

We keep trying to arm God.
God keeps trying to disarm us.

Horrifying on ever level
New — The court has issued a temporary restraining order blocking the removal of Mohsen Mahdawi from the US or Vermont.

The Trump-Vance administration ignored such an order previously, when it moved Rumeysa Ozturk out of Massachusetts to Louisiana.

Incredibly disappointed in Laura Gillen NY, Marcy Kaptur OH, Tom Suozzi NY, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez WA, Ami Bera CA, Ed Case HI, Jim Costa CA, Jim Himes CT, Chrissy Houlahan PA, and Jared Moskowitz FL. If these are your reps, please let them know that we stand with Congressman Green.
The House of Representatives has officially censured Al Green.

Ten Democrats joined Republicans.

Growing up, I was told that the demise of Christianity would be caused by our country rejecting God.

Now I believe it is actually caused by Christians blatantly rejecting the teachings of Jesus for the sake of political power.

The Rise of the Right-Wing Exvangelical
The right exvangelicals are both an echo and a mirror of the older left exvangelicals.

One of the most blatant forms of Christian hypocrisy in our time is Christians holding all the ordinary people we share this country with accountable to the most rigid moral standards while simultaneously holding their preferred politicians accountable to no standards at all.
