Why I think there's truth to that, I honestly think the issue is simpler just speaking as an artist here
A lot of us just hate having to manage multiple platforms, and the thought of joining YET ANOTHER platform (esp. one that's basically just "diet Twitter"), IS quite the burden.

For a lot of Twitter users, it’s a load-bearing decision. Taking Bluesky seriously means accepting the Twitter they know and love is dead, never coming back, might further deteriorate. It means a lot of sadness and mourning and being serious about what the site is, not what it could be.
I'm just confused as to why they weren't crossposting here (or anywhere else) in the first place. Even if bluesky is this ghost town, isn't it good to have more outreach..? Is reposting your own art on another site too much effort..? I'm genuinely trying to be charitable to these people

Okay fuck. I need help. Desperately. They are throttling me at work and I can't earn enough to pay bills anymore until it stops. I am so behind on many credit and loan payments, but those can wait. I NEED these ones fixed first and fast and I just am going to lay them on the table and beg for help.

Anyway, it’s okay to say AI was a mistake. If AI people didn’t want everything to be lumped in with the nonsense LLMs are forcing onto society, they had a decade to draw that distinction and never bothered to. Now the branding is stuck, sorry guys you have to have ideas now not just sneers.
