Musk decided to change the name in the dead of night on a weekend, probably when he was fucking high and there was no one to stop him. His poor CEO had to pretend this was the plan all along, and then everyone else had to scramble to catch up. He's just the worst.
More shocking is that no one around him looked it up. Maybe they did and he said fuck it.
