Largely unfunded retiree. Collector of cats, dogs, and non-functional workshop equipment. Likes toy trains, motorcycles, fried food, and sniffing nitromethane. Broadly left. Intolerant of wankers of any stripe. Holds grudges for decades.
I dunno. I learned how not to be a bad one, and that's not quite the same thing.

Touchscreens in cars have always been a bloody stupid idea. They are, however, significantly cheaper and easier for manufacturers than physical buttons and switches, and so ate, of course, wildly popular.

TBH, Musk's ideas are very dull and unimaginative compared to those of LSD users.

Given fair luck and a following wind he'll be too dead anyway by 2028.

Looks like our boy, Marty, when he was young. Him setting off to run was like an explosion in a walking stick factory until he got them properly under control.

Yeah, I can now see what the artist was trying to represent. I just don't think they did it very well.

OK. I've sort of got my head round them now, but geez, I thought C Reginald Dalby was crap at technical details...

I'm having difficulty making sense of those handlebars. If it wasn't so obviously genuinely vintage I'd be suspecting AI.

My money's on some sort of ghastly snuff shit.

And fairly safe from U-boat attack, presumably.
December 17, 2025 at 4:02 PM
Fair enough. However as a very much non-RW petrolhead, I must confess to having done some very stupid shit indeed at various times, mostly, fortunately, pre-social media.

All that extra unsprung weight on a 400? Nah.

Polling pretty much everywhere indicates that there's a good 30% of any given population that, if not openly fascist themselves, are entirely comfortable with a fash government, provided it means anyone even remotely centrist or left leaning are kept out of power.

Not all petrolheads are right wingers.

Silkiest are great. Feisty little buggers.

To the IoM TT, I'd add the Irish road races. Far less well known, but equally mad. Actually more so because, instead of the TT'S staggered start, it's a proper grid, so you get a whole bunch of adrenalined up nutters fighting it out on narrow roads.

Thanks. The street trees have come on nicely in the intervening decades.

Frydenberg is one of those selfish, arrogant cunts who make planes (and, by extension, everyone else on them) wait for them.
December 17, 2025 at 5:32 AM
Anyone got an exact location so we can do a streetview comparison?
December 17, 2025 at 5:29 AM
Hate to break it to you, but we've had robot domestic servants since the first domestic appliance that reduced the labour required to do a given chore.

Not if it's books. Or tools. Or model trains. Or motorcycles. Or...or....or

Speaking of which, here's one doing a pretty good impression of the percussion section.

And yet he remains a sad, whiny loser in everything other than the accumulation of almost meaningless levels of material wealth. How this can be so is a paradox that will challenge generations of philosophers and social scientists.

Until they start drinking their own sump oil and suffer a runaway. Pop goes the diesel, as it were.

To be fair, at this stage it seems to be one of the more fact based beliefs that they hold.
