While I appreciate the response, I - frankly- am a rando, and have not seen you respond to any of the people taking much more detailed and evidentiary disagreements with your post than I have offered

As it stands, I don't think this is a very good post, and will believe so until you prove otherwise

I don't always read Paul Krugman's blog, in part because it is often filled with "things you don't want to see written in a blog by Paul Krugman"

I regret being obsessed with WW2 as a kid

It left me with an enduring interest in the Navy and atp I can imagine no worse punishment

Personally if there were national security concerns related to noted serial sex trafficker and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein I would think the American people ought to know what those concerns are

I wish the lighting had been better because I think this Anchorage mural might be the physical embodiment of a popular front

Over the last three centuries basically every minority group has eventually assimilated into the overarching "American" identity

Previously, this meant "becoming white", and while I think that's a large degree of what's happening with Latinos rn, it doesn't explain other groups (namely Blacks)

Best selling SUVs, US (2025 models):

1) Toyota RAV4, 3,500lbs
2) Honda CR-V, 3,9000lbs
3) Chevy Equinox, 3,500lbs
4) Tesla Model Y, 4,500lbs
5) Chevy Trax, 3,000lbs

Do you think encouraging the purchase of the listed gas cars over equivalent EVs is a good policy tradeoff?

hmm somewhat decent

"Senate Dems should fight, and they should center it on healthcare" was a pretty unpopular position a couple months ago, and even I was unsure if it was the right tact (though ultimately supportive)

Seems to have worked out pretty well though

I feel like it's worth noting that this is a borderline picture perfect "what woke took from you!!" neighborhood of the type groypers like to try posting

Like there is LITERALLY a white picket fence in frame

Android has like five different methods for photo selection for some ungodly reason and this particular one fills me with a strong desire to track down whoever is responsible and do something worthy of the front page

I do wonder if the potential political impacts of a stock market crash are actually being somewhat underrated

Today's market is *significantly* different than it was just 5 or 10 years ago, with tons of young/poor retail investors, many of whom have a lot of wealth tied up in very precarious stocks

My capstone paper was on the late Wilson administration and in large part the country's turn to xenophobia and anti-immigration in the 1920s

Traditionally this is considered to have been a result of the war and Red Scare, which is certainly true, but after reading I find this graph rather striking!

Why is it that so many people think that liking one candidate means you have to start disliking the other?

Even when when I said "run Platner" prior to ~revelations~ at no point did I decide to start disliking Mills
