McAdams is of course excellent in Send Help. I think O'Brien deserves equal praise. Hysterical performance that had me cackling the entire film. Every laugh, grunt, squeal and contorted facial expression was perfect.

Wake me up when we get PaRappa the Rapper's thoughts on the manosphere.
As spotted by VGC, Sony has patented an AI model that creates “personalized podcasts or other audio" featuring game characters.

Notably, a leaked tech demo from March 2025 saw Sony experimenting with an AI-generated version of Horizon Zero Dawn protagonist Aloy, who could converse with a player.
Sony Has Patented an AI-Generated Podcast Voiced by PlayStation Characters
The patent suggests that podcasts may also include generated video of certain characters, and use player data to share news about relevant games.

Ahhhh yes, congrats to the brand new artist Olivia Dean who only has 2 top 5 charting albums, 2 live albums, 5 EPs and toured the world multiple times over.

Played through Silent Hill 2 this week. It's great obviously. I just don't understand how a big-ish budget game that's been out 15 months still performs this badly in PS5 performance mode. Frame rate plummets and stutters as soon as anything happens.

Not a game I'm interested in at all, but the Steam reviews are cringe to read through. Most are just 0.2 hours played, "worst game ever". Get a life.
Highguard, a new shooter from former Apex Legends developers, has had an eventful launch day.

It saw 97,000+ concurrent players on Steam, but 9,000+ negative user reviews as well.

The game’s reveal served as the closing announcement of the 2025 Game Awards, which was met with a tepid reception.
Highguard Launch Day Sees Significant Player Numbers, Mostly Negative Sentiments
Highguard, a free-to-play multiplayer shooter from former Apex Legends developers, had a high-profile reveal that had a double-edged effect.

Saw No Other Choice and binged His & Hers today and sadly I didn't enjoy either ☹️

I doubt Sinners gets 16 Oscar nominations if it was released on Netflix.

A weird, unexpected film watching weekend. I'd never have anticipated liking a Colleen Hoover adaptation and a James DeMonaco film more than a Safdie and a Guadagnino.

Thank you Sony for investing so much money into these weird and wonderful 28 Years Later films 🫶🏻

Hey what the actual fuck. How are Young Fathers not on the best original song Oscar shortlist? There are so many songs in 28 Years Later that could make the cut. Another example of Hollywood not taking horror seriously.

The Lost Bus would have been an incredible cinema experience.

Very smart to hold back We Bury the Dead's Australian release so it's now right in middle of 28 Years Later 2, Send Help and Scream 7.

TIL that Alejandro González Iñárritu had released a film since The Revenant.

Why does every recent Sony first party game have really shitty, imprecise platforming for no reason? Is it a company mandate?
January 4, 2026 at 5:25 AM
I think Death Stranding 2 and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 are genuine masterpieces, but I know I'll be telling people to play Hell Is Us for the next decade+. So that's my game of the year.

I just don't know how anybody sits through the final 3rd of Sinners and thinks "yep, that's an Oscar worthy screenplay!"
January 2, 2026 at 1:43 AM
Oh that's sad. RIP. I literally watched She Hate Me for the first time the other day. Dude was at his iconic, scene-stealing best in that underrated film.

Love love love The Copenhagen Test (so far anyway). Just a really solid, exciting spy thriller. Barrera is a legit action star.
