“A Russian zombie state, if you can keep it.”

I hope one day that we demand a higher bar than just being in stark contrast to the Orange One. That one day we can have a serious and honest conversation about why we send every generation off to kill and die now. Those answers can illuminate our path forward if we’re only brave enough to ask them.
Ahead of Veterans Day, I was honored to welcome a flight of veterans and their families as they arrived in DC.

Yep. So many moments that often didn’t seem like a big deal at the time but I now look back on and cringe. Many had nothing to do with combat, TBH, and because of that they seemed harmless. They were anything but. We were a bunch of boys out to prove ourselves and got patted on the back for it all.

It’s such a weird and awkward situation to be in. You know people mean well but don’t know well enough what they mean. I’d rather people have a real conversation about the why of it all.

We’re offered free meals every V-day. It’s a holiday devoid of any meaning, a chance for companies to wrap themselves in the flag and use us as marketing props. This country doesn’t know why it sends people to fight and die anymore—it sure ain’t freedom—so it vomits up platitudes like “TYFYS”.

Not buying any of this.
If you aren’t replacing Schumer, you are every bit as much the problem as your seven colleagues chosen to take the hit for the rest of you.
