I still use MSWord 2003. I've tried other things, and I actually find them TOO complex. Too many bells and whistles, I get over whelmed.
The only other thing I use is Aeon Timelines for, well, timelines! It helps me keep my dates straight in my sci-fi.

WEEK 1: EDUCATION 1: Can everyone attend schools in your setting? 2: What subjects are students taught? 3: Are there specialized schools e.g. for magic or specific professions? 4: What is the culture like at school? 5: Does/Did your MC go to school? 6: School symbols, uniforms, mascots, etc. 7: Public or private? Run by the government, church, etc.?
