One of my proudest moments was shaking my 89 year old great uncles hand when I graduated from Law School and all I have to say is I'm happy that he's not around to see this bullshit.
I feel a lot of sadness for our Black elders. Dinner last night with my mom (79) and aunt (83). We talked about how they grew up in the South under Jim Crow and marched, protested, organized and FOUGHT for their rights. Now here we are again. They should be resting not preparing to fight again.
