My favorite thing about being on an email chain with 400+ people who should have been BCCed but were not is the sheer number of email replies that are criticizing others for hitting Reply All or — even better — requesting to be removed (?) from the thread. Like, bro...no one wants to be here.

I believe we ended at 12 over the course of about 5 hours.
By my count we are up to five mentions of LAPTOP at current congressional hearing.

I don’t football. I love Taylor Alison Swift. But karma truly is her boyfriend and this is what happens when you refer to Trump’s presence as “a great honor.” #gobirds

Sometimes it feels like these platforms are a space for stating the obvious but in case it is not clear: the tactic here is chaos, the technique and execution is sloppy and illegal and the question is whether the institutions and individuals with power actually use it.

This appears to be yet another Administration effort to weaponize the power of the FCC.

The FCC has no business intimidating and silencing broadcast media.
Breaking News: The chairman of the FCC ordered an investigation into NPR and PBS this week over the practice of their member stations airing sponsorships.

Brendan Carr, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, recently expressed concern about NPR and PBS’s sponsorships.

It appears that I've gotten under Carr's skin. He clapped back on Twitter over the weekend, claiming that I am a "censor."

We need to talk about what the 1A is for and what real censorship is ... because Brendan Carr either doesn't understand or is just lying to the American people.

I'm trying over here and watching what's shaking out and coming to the conclusion that I'm not sure I have it in me to engage on another platform of "Takes." I'm not sure what I want out of social media anymore but endless "Takes" isn't it.

Stopping HR 9495 is an "All Hands On Deck" moment for nonprofit orgs. If this bill passes it would give the executive branch dangerous new powers, with grave consequences for civil society, including nonprofit newsrooms.

Not to distract you all from the Pete Hegseth DOD news, but the House is voting now on HR 9495, the bill that could allow Trump's Treasury Dept to unilaterally revoke tax-exempt status from non-profits it deems as "supporting terrorism."

Everything is truly awful (Gaetz?! DOGE?) but y'all should know that there was a massive scramble by the good guys to beat back H.R. 9495 and it WORKED so hold on to the light where you can. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024...
