I write about the arts in Philadelphia for BroadStreetReview.com. Also write contemporary fantasy under my own name and epic fantasy as Curt Benjamin. Phillies Forever. Photo is a close-up of flowers growing at the side of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
I used to dress in my business clothes on airplanes, but back then the seats were wider and you had a lot more leg room, so you could actually reach your destination ready to hit the office straight from the airport. Would not try that today!

I have heard her discuss her choices in translating the Odyssey. She is just amazing--clear, and funny, and insightful, and she had cool powerpoints with pictures from Greek vases and mosaics like paper cutouts to illustrate her points.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one recognizing some parallels between modern tech and science and medicine in the early 20th century. A little less move fast and break things and a little more IRBs.

It's dreadful. I feel frustrated for you, but also, arts reporting is just dying. The arts too. Art schools and programs in the arts and humanities are shutting down. STEM is devouring the world and trying to kill the arts in their wake. We are in a bad place.

He was very good in Life As a House, though.

I suspect that if he'd been a tad less pretty, he'd have escaped the mega franchise catastrophe and he'd be the darling of indie projects of the heart everywhere.
