This lens confirms my conversion from brand snobbery. First the wonderful Sigma lenses for my Leica SL a few years ago. Not long ago I’d have balked at 3rd party lenses for my Nikon digitals but LOVE how this Tamron 28-75 renders and it’s so light for a const f/2.8. Superb! #camerafriday #winefriday

This lens was in a bargain bucket outside a camera shop in Switzerland, looking dirty, wet and sorry for itself. Nasty fungus on several internal surfaces. 5 CHF (about a fiver). Just finished testing after a comprehensive clean and it’s now all sparkly and sharp. I love a bargain, me 🎞️ #Pentax

Contax trio. RX has #Fujifilm Provia loaded. Problems with mirror slip sorted. Speed dial on 137MA broken on arrival and now fixed. Badly behaving 167MT on arrival now working fine. #cameragear #filmphotography #makedoandmend

I gave the previous one to my Son, so bought another CZJ Tessar. For 11 quid. No fungus this time but stuck aperture which is now fixed. There are other CZJ Tessars but this one is mine #cameragear #Zeiss #Jena #Tessar

This is going to take a bit more work than I was expecting. 12 quid, with fungus. The aperture doesn’t work and the focus ring doesn’t move further than 0.7m. In for a penny, in for a pound! #CameraGear #filmphotography #M42

So pleased I caved in and got the a850. A Minolta in everything but name; the DNA of the Dynax 9 and 7 are clearly evident. Everything I need in a DSLR. (The 28-70 f/2.8G was cheap as it needed work which I completed. Superb on film and digital!) #camerafriday #minolta

Last night I dreamt I was playing a Prophet 5 (I know nothing about it except it’s a synth, but it was specifically a Prophet 5) with the late Andy Fletcher of Depeche Mode. Woke up feeling sad that a) I don’t have a Prophet 5, b) I can’t play the synth, c) I’m never going to be in Depeche Mode.

Canon LTM 50mm f/1.8. Aperture blades were saturated with oil so given a clean, but may need more in future. Also focus was a bit off so shim spacer thickened. Now spot-on. Made around 1954.
