Charlie Kirk never served one day in uniform nor one day in office. He made memes on the internet and said shitty things about people on podcasts. If this is who Republicans consider a hero and want to display in death, let them. It says more about them than anyone against their ideology ever could.

The best way to honor Charlie’s memory, Gavin, is to remember his legacy for what it is: as a cheerleader and mouthpiece for a political movement that is trying to oppress and erase from public life anyone who did not look like him. …

Hockey wise I can understand why Zegras was traded to an extent. However, doing it now and for that beyond lackluster return makes no sense. Especially when his value could have potentially skyrocketed come deadline time. Verbeek must have something else afoot because this is bad asset management.

Finally saw #MissionImpossibleTheFinalReckoning and it commits the number one crime against itself: it’s boring. Bloated with flashbacks and catch ups, saving all the thrills for the last 45 mins out of a 170 min run time. Rather than feeling final, it felt more like, “thank god this is over.” C-

Randomly reminded myself that Bob Murray let Shea Theodore walk over to VGK all to protect Kevin Bieksa. Now I’m angry lol

Samueli’s should also be at the press conference to provide an explanation to a place that they have invested in as to why they signed off at the possibility that all of that work will practically mean nothing to people with this hire. They ultimately approved this, and people deserve to know why.

Percival Everett's 'James' wins Pulitzer for fiction.

Very often these awards go awry, but not in 2025. 'James' is most powerful book I have read in a long time.

Congrats.

We’re living in a comedy.
The official White House account posted an AI-generated image of Donald Trump for #StarWarsDay

The caption claims they’re fighting the 'Radical Left' Empire — unaware the red lightsaber portrays Trump as the villain

These much needed updates and make overs coming to Honda Center are cool and all, especially since it’ll be privately funded. But I wish the Samueli’s were this gracious about the actual product on the ice and the staff.

Taking a book out with you in public so people can see you reading it should be called proofreading.

In the tumultuous times that we are living in at the moment, it’s more important than ever to expand our knowledge on a variety of things. This can easily be accomplished by reading books. Support your local bookstores and literary communities. Books not bombs.

I can’t remember a film that has caused me to really try and replay it over and over again in my head, like the one I saw earlier today has. That film is #Sinners
Guess I’ll have to go see it again.
Ryan Coogler is a mastermind.

Rule no. 1: Support indie bookshops this indie bookstore day and all year long!

So, B&N is having a preorder sale at the same time as Amazon is having a sale, and both are targeting Independent Bookstore Day, which is one of the biggest in-store shopping days of the year.

It feels shitty as an indie bookstore to be targeted by billionaire and venture-backed corporations

Hi there 👋 we’re an indie bookstore in San Diego for the people who prefer their JD’s to be JD Robb, their Kennedy’s to be Kennedy Ryan, their Noem’s to be gnomes, their Rubio’s to sell fish tacos, their kings to be Stephen King, and their days that drag on to be days on a dragon.

Tomorrow, a certain online mega-retailer launches a book sale, just days before Indie Bookstore Day on 4/26. This is no coincidence; Bookstore Day is one of the largest revenue drivers for indies.

Indies need our support to thrive & build community spaces for all...mega-retailers do not.

God damn dude, no.

Read these instead:

The Trees by Percival Everett (not about vampires but the less I say, the better. Go in blind)

Fledgling by by Octavia E. Butler

Ring Shout by P. Djèli Clark

Lone Woman by Victor LaValle
(More thriller but has a hefty amount of horror elements)
