I've gotta use my Monday column to talk about Michelle Onyiah, who had four opportunities to leave Cal basketball when it would have been very easy to do so, and decided to stay and be special in Berkeley.

A huge win over Georgia Tech to arrest a multi-week slide for Cal WBB . . . though I'm afraid that the only way Cal can escape the dreaded 8/9 NCAA seed now is by beating, gulp, likely #2 seed Notre Dame in the ACC tournament.

Cal Women’s Basketball is legit. They just had a very dominant performance over Georgia Tech. All of our starters were on their games tonight. They clearly look better than their projected 9 Seed for the NCAA Tournament. They will be very competitive if they keep playing like they did tonight.

Cal Women’s Basketball is legit. They got a first round bye in the ACC Tournament with their win tonight against UVA. Don’t sleep on Cal WBB. I am not a hater on UVA, but they didn’t admit me into their masters program but Cal did. Thus, this one was a feel good win for me tonight.
