I believe churching is a blessing for women after childbirth, hence it being at the same time as baptisms.

This isn't good. I have led bereavement courses online, and every time I have chosen to walk forty minutes across the city to hold the call in the chaplaincy building, because I knew I needed other people nearby and a separation from home to help me safely hold the weight of other people's grief.

Nodding is good. Some folk definitely need to work on their listening responses though. I once had a guy stare at me with such furious intensity I thought I'd accidentally committed heresy. Afterwards he thanked me for my thoughtful preaching. Turns out it was just his concentrating face!

It's a great little game, and the rulebook is a thing of wonder. The boy enjoyed playing even when he lost the second round, which is an excellent sign!

There's something about the instinctive way she seeks us out, even in sleep, that is so very precious.
