Baptist minister. Wife and mum to gorgeous chaos monsters. Amateur stitcher. Trying to be a good ally. She/her.
For seven years there has been sticky residue on the washing machine from where we peeled the manufacturer's sticker off. Today I finally spent the five pounds and fifteen seconds necessary to clean it off with sticky stuff remover. Why am I like this? Just do the thing!

Found name labels half way through the holiday. Cannot find said labels the night before the kids go back to school. Typical.

Today I was more popular than carpet bowls. I'm sticking that on my CV!

We really enjoyed our first play through of @jamiesmart.bsky.social's new game. My son was particularly pleased to beat Dr Goatenstain.

Twelve years married to this wonderful man, seen here in his natural environment.

Inspired by @silverpebble2.bsky.social, some finds from Runswick Bay this week.

Whitby has three independent bookshops. Three! So why can't Leicester sustain one?

Three hours into our holiday and we've already paddled in the sea, relaxed in the hot tub and eaten the best fish and chips I've had in years. I think we've made a good start.

On my way home from seeing the spectacular Indigo at @curveleicester.bsky.social. There are only two shows left so see it while you can. And take tissues.

Not for the first time, I woke up to find Miri in my bed, fast asleep and pressed right up against me. I extricated myself and crept downstairs to start pottering and make a cup of tea. I've just stuck my head back in, and she's still fast asleep, but now snuggled right up against Mike.

As a special treat, we've got the kids up to see the full moon through our new telescope. They're going to be exhausted in the morning, but it was worth it.

Well we made it to the end of the school year! Lovely reports for both of the kids and it's been good to treat them a bit to kick the holidays off this evening.

School sports days must be against some international convention. The parents are being baked alive while the kids are being tied together and made to run. What sadist came up with this?

She's fantastic five!

She's always beautiful but sometimes she likes to be extra fancy.

She's wild and wonderful and we love her very much.

He's nifty nine!

Apparently this was the best birthday he's had in nine years.

Words cannot do justice to the wonder of this kind and curious and creative kid.

I love being his mum.

Nine years ago I was ten hours into labour. I have lots of feelings but few words, so here is a picture of that baby half way up a hill yesterday.

The latest questions from my littlest theologian.

How did God learn to be God?
How did God learn to be kind?
What is God's job?

I'd love to hear how you would have answered her.

Really enjoyed our family day out to Nottingham yesterday, in spite of the rain. The kids were excited to go on a tram for the first time and see where their dad studied, and we all loved Luminarium at Lakeside Arts.

My hayfever is going wild today. I've been taking fexofenadine daily since February and I've been fine, but today I feel like I've been beaten about the head and punched in the throat, and I'm struggling for breath. The pollen count isn't even especially high, so what's the deal?

It's show week for my two young dancers and I am so proud of them. Miri has taken on a second class this year, and Eddie continues unfazed by being the only boy in the school.

Can someone please tell me what I would like to eat?

Ten days ago my husband jumped out of a plane to raise money to refurbish the toilets at Stoneygate Baptist Church. The online Crowdfunder closes overnight, so now is the moment if you would like to chuck a few quid in the pot.

The blossoms and daffodils were Mothers' Day and Easter gifts from the kids, and I picked the sunflowers up in a charity shop a little while back. I think arranging them took as long as making them! They've now joined our Easter hearth, along with some art from Good Friday.
