Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The people who need help are not the problem.

It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

Well, Fam, just found out our health insurance is jumping from $1700 to over $3000 a month. And we still have to wait till Nov 1 to see more options—when the site will probably crash because everyone will be freaking out at the same time.

Friendly reminder: Some libraries offer a "library of things"
This story highlights Maine but they exist in many cities including in the DC MD VA area where fed workers may find it particularly helpful right now

Why Shop? In Maine, the Library of Things Has It All (Almost).
One town’s effort to make pricey items accessible and encourage people to buy less stuff seems to be catching on.

Don't hold your breath waiting on the USA to do this.
Switzerland has become the first country to install solar panels between train tracks and generating clean energy without disrupting train operations. Trains continue running safely, while the tracks silently produce sustainable power.

I’d say that @stephencolbert.bsky.social is (with the lone exception of @maddow.msnbc.com) the most brilliant, humane person I’ve encountered in broadcasting. His mind works faster than anyone else’s at a level of sophistication that is unmatchable. Genuinely a generational talent.

The canceling of Colbert shows that corporations don’t really care how obvious it is that they’ve caved to fascism, because they don’t believe they’ll suffer any consequences for it. We need to make sure that they do.

We have some good news in these dark times!

Narcisso Barranco, the father of three U.S. Marines, has been released from an ICE detention center in Adelanto, California.

I hope to see more releases and more families reunited.

Small steps lead to great victories.🔥

Please pass it on.
