From when I first heard about them as an Xennial Jewish kid until sometime in 2024, it was always my understanding that it comes from "Nationalsozialismus"; I only ever heard about the "Ignatz" derivation recently

So I think he rounds down to wrong about "we" here (unfortunate choice of city aside, not that there are many better candidates). Jews in Pittsburgh didn't experience 10/7 like Jews at Re'im did, but they weren't as untouched as gentiles in Pittsburgh
