So today, 1st December, on World AIDS day, remember this:
- Test regularly
- HIV and AIDS are preventable
- HIV is treatable
- Undetectable = Untransmittable

If you do test positive for HIV, that isn’t the death sentence it once was.
You can live a long life, simply by taking one (or a few) pills a day. HIV is now treatable. Not curable, but treatable. And when on effective treatment, you can’t pass it on! This is known as U=U.

You can get PrEP for free from your local Sexual Health clinic, if you’re eligible. PrEP is used to significantly reduce the possibility of getting HIV, and requires you to take one pill, once a day; or as a regimen known as Event Based Dosing. Your Sexual Health clinician will talk you through it.
